Olympics trials

The Olympic Trials for a given sport and country are a competition to select athletes to compete for that country in that sport at the Olympic Games. Olympic Trials are largely restricted to individual sports and wealthier countries with many strong competitors in that sport. Other nations may have few potential competitors who reach the qualifying standard set by the international federation for the given event, or may lack funding to send many competitors.
