Catalunya en Comú (English: Catalonia in Common), previously Un País en Comú (English: A Country in Common) and collectively dubbed as Els Comuns (English: The Commons), is a political party that is to succeed the electoral alliances of Catalunya Sí que es Pot and En Comú Podem at a permanent basis. The foundation of the party has been supported by Podemos, Initiative for Catalonia Greens, United and Alternative Left, Barcelona en Comú and Equo. The founding manifesto was presented on 19 December 2016 and its first public event was held in Barcelona on 29 January 2017. Its spokesman is En Comú Podem's spokesperson in the Congress of Deputies, Xavier Domenech, with the new party being sponsored by mayor of Barcelona Ada Colau.
It was proposed that the definitive name be Catalunya en Comú (Catalan for Catalonia in Common), En Comú Podem (In Common We Can), En Comú (In Common) or Comuns (Commons). In the end, the chosen name was Catalunya en Comú.
