Casey Mittelstadt (born November 22, 1998) is an American ice hockey player who plays as a center for the Green Bay Gamblers of United States Hockey League. He is considered a top prospect for the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.
Mittelstadt spent most of his junior years playing high school hockey for Eden Prairie High School. After losing the Minnesota Class AA state championship game to Wayzata High School in 2016, Mittelstadt decided to return to Eden Prairie for a final season in 2016–17 to try to win the championship one last time. Although Eden Prairie lost in the semifinals, Mittelstadt was named Minnesota Mr. Hockey as the state’s top senior boys hockey player.
Leading up to the NHL draft, Mittelstadt was ranked the No. 3 North American skater by NHL Central Scouting, stating that he was impact player in both the USHL and Minnesota high school. He was described as a versatile player that can play both wing and center that possesses some elite skills and assets.
Mittelstadt has committed to play for the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers for the 2017–18 season.
