Carl McCormick (born June 26, 1989), better known as Cardiak, is an American record producer from Willingboro, New Jersey. He began releasing music in 2008, and is best known for working with urban music artists such as Ace Hood, J Cole,Drake, Joe Budden, 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Freeway, DJ Khaled, Rick Ross, Meek Mill, Trina, Red Cafe, Lil Boosie, Wale,Fabolous, and D Block.
Cardiak received notoriety for his first major placement in 2010 for his production of Lloyd Banks single Start It Up (song) featuring Kanye West, Ryan Leslie, Swizz Beats and Fabolous featured on the H.F.M. 2 (The Hunger for More 2) album, accompanied by his two other productions "Take Em to War" and "Unexplainable". Start It Up peaked at position 52 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs list.
Cardiak received his first Grammy Nomination in 2013 for "Best Rap Album" for his production of "Amsterdam" and "Diced Pineapple's" for Rick Ross (rapper) album God Forgives, I Don't. In 2015 Cardiak won his first Grammy Award for Best Rap Album for his production of "Groundhog Day" for Eminem's The Marshall Mathers LP 2.
