Carache or Caraxe is an island in the Bissagos Islands, Guinea-Bissau. It belongs to the Bolama Region and the sector of Caravela. Its area is 80,4 km², the island is 18.7 km long and 7.3 km wide and is separated by the Canal de Ninquim. Its main town is Binte located nearly the center. Three villages are on the island including Ampincha (Ampinsha), Cuchame (Kushame) and Tingaga. Its nearby islet is the Porcos Islet (not the same as an islet in the eastern Bijagos). Neighbouring islands includes Ponta and Formosa (or Abu) to the east, Enu to the southeast, Uno to the south, Unhacomo and Unhacomozinho to the southwest and Caravela to the west.
