Cape Regional Medical Center is located at 2 Stone Harbor Boulevard in the Cape May Court House section of Middle Township, New Jersey, United States. It is the only hospital in Cape May County.
The institution's name was changed in 2007 from Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital to Cape Regional Medical Center.
New services offered by Cape Regional include inpatient dialysis services, lifesaving IMRT (Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy) technology in the Cancer Center, a state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Interventional Radiology Suite, and a Picture Archiving Communications System (PACS) which allows the Radiology and Cardiology Departments to view images electronically.
In April 2006, Cape Regional selected by the University of Pennsylvania Health System to become an affiliate hospital. This clinical affiliation expands the capabilities of the cardiac and cancer programs. The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory is now staffed by University of Pennsylvania physicians and the Cancer program now has access to over 200 clinical trials so that patients no longer have to travel for these vital services.
The hospital was awarded the Gold Seal of Approval by the Joint Commission, reflecting the high standards of care provided to patients. In each of the past two years, the Emergency Department has ranked in the top ten percent in the country for patient satisfaction.
In 2007, the hospital will add an on-site MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) to serve patients at all times.
