Cafeteriavirus is a genus of viruses, in the family Mimiviridae. Amoeba serve as natural hosts. There is currently only one species in this genus: the type species Cafeteria roenbergensis virus.
Group: dsDNA
Viruses in Cafeteriavirus have icosahedral and round geometries. The diameter is around 300 nm. Genomes are linear, around 730kb in length. The genome has 544 open reading frames.
Replication follows the DNA strand displacement model. DNA-templated transcription is the method of transcription. Amoeba serve as the natural host.
