"Bye Bye Bird" is a harmonica-driven blues song written by Willie Dixon and Sonny Boy Williamson II, originally released in 1963 as the B-side of Williamson's single "Help Me" (Checker 1036).
Williamson also recorded the song both solo and with instrumental backing by The Yardbirds for the 1963 album Sonny Boy Williamson and the Yardbirds.
The song was covered by the Moody Blues on their 1965 debut album The Magnificent Moodies. Virginia Ironside, music critic of The Daily Mail, singled out Denny Laine's vocals and harmonica-playing for special praise.
