Anis Mohamed Youssef Ferchichi (born 28 September 1978), better known as Bushido, is a German rapper, producer and entrepreneur in real estate industry. The word "bushido" is Japanese and means "Way of the Warrior". He also uses the pseudonym Sonny Black, based on Dominic Napolitano. In 2004, he and fellow rapper D-Bo founded the record label ersguterjunge.
After the release of his debut album Vom Bordstein bis zur Skyline in 2003, Bushido achieved popularity in the German hip hop scene and in the mainstream media for his controversial song lyrics, that were criticised being misogynist and homophobic.
As of 2009, he sold more than 1.5 million albums in Germany alone.
Bushido was born of a Tunisian father and a German mother in Bad Godesberg, a small town, part of Bonn in West Germany. Shortly after, his family moved to Berlin. Bushido grew up with his mother and brother, in Berlin-Tempelhof district of former West Berlin. He attended Eckener Gymnasium up to the tenth grade, then changed to another gymnasium before leaving school early, and accumulated a criminal record for drug possession and vandalism. A judge ordered him to attend vocational training as a painter or face a jail term. During the training as a painter, he met and befriended rapper Fler. Bushido sprayed graffiti under the pseudonym "Fuchs" (fox).
In 1998, released the demo tape, titled Westberlin Represent by rap group 030 Squad, consisting of Bushido (former "Fuchs"), Vader and King Orgasmus One (former "Def Bringer"). The tape has been sold 20 times by their respective friends and was said to be forgotten tape, however in 2011 King Orgasmus One found the tape at home and sold it on eBay. Bushido had his first guest appearance on the track "Rap ist out", with King Orgamus One, on Frauenarzt's 2000 demo album Tanga Tanga. Around the same period Bushido, King Orgasmus and Bass Sultan Hengzt formed the group Berlins Most Wanted.
