Eponym | Henri Buisson |
Buisson is a lunar crater that is located on the far side of the Moon and is named after the French physicist Henri Buisson. Nearly attached to the southeast rim is the crater Vesalius. To the southwest is Einthoven. Nearly 15 km north is the equator. The rim of this crater is somewhat worn, and is lowest in the north. There is a low central ridge across the midpoint.
By convention these features are identified on lunar maps by placing the letter on the side of the crater midpoint that is closest to Buisson. All of the listed are to the north, Buisson V is to the northwest, Buisson X and Y are to the north-northwest and Buisson Z is to the north. Buisson V is in the Southern Hemisphere and Buisson Z is centered around the equator.
