The barracks are located on the former RAF Hullavington, now Hullavington Airfield. They were renamed Buckley Barracks, after the VC winner John Buckley, when they opened in 2003. In November 2016 the Ministry of Defence announced that the site would close in 2029.
The barracks are currently occupied by 9 Theatre Logistic Regiment Royal Logistic Corps (RLC).
