The company provides cloud-based Unified Communications solutions to communications service providers, based on their UC-One solution which consists of two product platforms, BroadWorks and BroadCloud. In 2013 the company acquired the British company Hosted IP Communications (Europe) Ltd. (HIPCOM) and the German company Finocom AG, both providers of cloud-delivered unified communications services.
The company was founded by Michael Tessler and Scott D. Hoffpauir in 1998. The products and services of the company play a critical part in the network by serving as the software which delivers and coordinates call control and information transmission over service providers’ IP-based network. Its products include BroadWorks and BroadCloud. On May 31, 2016 BroadSoft, Inc. announced the acquisition of Reston, Virginia-based Intellinote, an enterprise messaging-based team communication and collaboration software application built for the increasingly mobile and millennial workforce.
In 2013, the company received Frost & Sullivan 2013 New Product Innovation Leadership Award for its hosted unified communication platform product. In the same year, thanks to its unified communication platform, UC-one, it won the People's Choice Stevie Award in the 11th American Business Award Competition. UC-one was listed in "Favorite Telecommunications Service" list.
