British National Studios

The former British National Studio is located on Clarendon Road, Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, England. It is currently used by the BBC and has been in continuous use since its opening in 1927.

The studio was sold to Lew Grade's company Associated Television in May 1958. Initially it was used for film based dramas but was converted to television studios in 1961.The studio remained as the main London base for Grade's TV interests until 1983.

As part of the UK independent TV refranchising of 1981, ATV was forced to dispose of this asset and sold it to the BBC. It is now home to Eastenders, Holby City and other BBC productions.
