Brentwood station is a CTrain light rail station in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It serves the Northwest Line (Route 201). The station opened on 30 August 1990 as part of a 1.1 km (0.68 miles) extension of the Northwest line, and was the terminal station of the Northwest line up to 14 December 2003. Located 6.2 km Northwest of the 7 Avenue & 9 Street SW interlocking in the median of Crowchild Trail, to the West of Charleswood Drive. The station serves the city's Brentwood neighbourhood, Varsity, Brentwood Village Mall, and the University Research Park.
Pedestrian overpasses connect the neighbourhoods, park and ride lot, and bus terminal to the station. Inside the station two escalators, a set of stairs, and an elevator provide access down to the platform. The park and ride lot provides 1381 spaces and is located on the South side of Crowchild Trail.
The station was initially planned to be constructed along with the rest of the Northwest line which opened in 1987; however, due to delays for the interchange at Crowchild Trail and Charleswood Drive/32 Avenue NW as well as the rush to get train service to the university for the 1988 Olympics, the station was delayed 3 years to 1990.
In the summer of 2011, the platform was extended to the North to accommodate future four-car trains as part of Calgary Transit's platform extension program to allow for operation of four-car CTrains starting in 2014.
In 2008, the station registered an average of 14,900 boardings per weekday.
