The Boston Bruins are a professional ice hockey team based in Boston, Massachusetts. They are members of the Atlantic Division in the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL) and are one of the Original Six teams of the league. Founded in 1924, it is the league's third-oldest team and is the oldest in the United States, with the 2016–17 season marking the 93rd year for the franchise. As of the end of their 2015–16 season, the Bruins have won 2,979 regular season games, accumulated 25 division championships and 4 conference championships, led the league in points 13 times, appeared in the playoffs 69 times, and won six Stanley Cup titles.
