Boiling Springs High School (BSHS) is a high school located in Boiling Springs, South Carolina. It is part of Spartanburg School District 2, and is one of two high schools serving Spartanburg County School District 2. Its mascot is the English Bulldog.The current principal is Dr. Chuck Gordon. Student population is currently 72.2% White, 13.6% African American, 8.1% Hispanic, 5.2% Asian, and 2.3% Other. In summer of 2016 Spartanburg County School District Two announced their plans to build a new Boiling Springs High School. The district is borrowing $120 million to complete the new building in 2019.
Recently, Boiling Springs High School has won the 4A State Softball Championship for South Carolina (2013) putting up an astounding 32-1 overall record. Ending the season ranked #15 nationally and #1 in the state. The 4A State Cheerleading Championships (2013), and the 4A State Golf Championship in 2014. The wrestling team has also made a come back after the program was discontinued in the early 90's. Former 3x Judo National Champion and former World Sambo Champion, Leo Sawyer is credited with setting the foundation for the program at the high school through elementary levels.
Boiling Springs High School also proudly claims one of the states best marching ensembles in South Carolina. They have won several regional championships and have been a consistent Bands of America Regional & Super Regional Finalist. In 2013, The Boiling Springs HS Band was a Grand National Semi-Finalist. The band has been a consistent SCBDA 4A & 5A State Marching Band Finalist and Upper State Champion, placing in the top 4 for the past 8 years. Boiling Springs Marching Band is now under the direction of Rob Smith.
