Blue Foundation is a music band. Their cinematic dream pop, shoegaze and electronics inspired compositions are known for being featured in films like Twilight, Miami Vice and on TV shows like CSI: Miami and The Vampire Diaries.
Danish singer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Tobias Wilner founded the group in 2000, inspired by Mark E. Smith's approach to forming a band (the Fall), recruiting a rotating cast of traditional musicians throughout the band's history to inspire creativity. Today the band is based in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn and Copenhagen, Denmark. Since 2008 their line-up has consisted of Tobias Wilner (producer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist) and Bo Rande (producer, multi-instrumentalist).
Blue Foundation released their fifth album "Blood Moon" worldwide on September 2, 2016. The album features appearances from Mark Kozelek (Sun Kill Moon/ Red House Painters), Erika Spring (Au Revoir Simone/ Nice As Fuck), Jonas Bjerre (Mew), Sonya Kitchell, Sara Savery (aka Drop the Gun) and Findlay Brown.
Tobias Wilner grew up in a , in Copenhagen Denmark. When he was 17, he was forced to move from his home. During the following 8 years, he moved restlessly from one place to another. Staying at friend's places in London, small artist places in Copenhagen. He made his living out of DJ'ing and composing music for Contemporary Dance Pieces and Art films. On top of creating music he is also a skateboarder. He got his first skateboard when he was 10 years old, and to this day he still sees skateboarding as a part of his life and a big influence on his music.
