Black Menace was a gangster rap group from Hollygrove, New Orleans, LA. The Original members are JMC (Ronald Jones, Jr. a.k.a. J-Dawg), Threat (Wilson Williams) and DJ Jaz (Edward Woods). DJ Jaz eventually left the group making them a duo. The duo was one of the first groups signed to Big Boy Records. In 1993, they released their debut Really Doe on Big Boy Records. The album was produced entirely by Big Boy's in-house producer Precise and featured guest appearance by G-Slimm who made his debut appearance on several tracks. They followed up with the album Drama Time which was released in 1995. The album was again produced by Precise and featured labelmates Mystikal, Fiend, G-Slimm and Ghetto Twiinz.

Black Menace formed in 1989 with neighborhood friends J-Dawg, The Threat, and former member DJ Jazz started rappin’ together. They released their EP Trespassing on Hollygrove Records in 1992. After recording their debut, (J-Dawg, Threat and DJ Laz) signed with Big Boy Records and released Really Doe. After its release, DJ Laz left. Really doe was released August 18, 1993 selling over 100,000 units. The album gain Black Menace popularity and recantation in New Orleans. In 1995 Black Menace released their sophomore album "Drama Time." In 1997, The duo released solo albums and deciding to split ways with Big Boy Records a year later. They founded their own label, Menace Entertainment, and released the album Mo Drama in 2000. in 2001, they collaborated with former labelmates Insane and G-Quikk on their last album to date, The IV Horsemen.
