Binibining Pilipinas 2017, will be the 54th edition of Binibining Pilipinas, will take place at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Quezon City, Philippines in April 30, 2017. Maxine Medina, (Miss Philippines Universe 2016 and Miss Universe 2016 Top 6 finalist), Kylie Verzosa (Miss International 2016), Jennifer Hammond (Miss Intercontinental 2016 Top 15 Semi-Finalist), Joanna Louise Eden (Miss Supranational 2016 Top 25 Semi-Finalist), Nicole Cordoves ( Miss Grand International 2016 1st Runner-up), and Nichole Marie Manalo (Miss Globe 2016 3rd Runner-up) will crown their successors at the end of the event respectively. The finals will be hosted by KC Concepcion and the male host is not yet been confirmed.
When the FB page of Bb. Pilipinas (Official) uploaded their latest cover photo announcing the April 30 finals night of Bb. Pilipinas 2017, you will notice the strategic placement of the photos of the six (6) reigning titleholders. With that alone, anyone can surmise that the new ranking of the titles will be as follows:
1) Miss Universe Philippines 2) Bb. Pilipinas International 3) Bb. Pilipinas Grand International 4) Bb. Pilipinas Supranational 5) Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental 6) Bb. Pilipinas Globe
This could only mean that Miss Grand International has already earned sufficient stripes to move up the ladder. Thanks in part to the commendable staging of the last edition in Las Vegas and the near-win of Nicole Cordoves in the same. The organization changed the format and give more emphasis on question and answer portion therefore Miss Grand International title moved into third place because the international pageant gives more emphasis in the said segment.
Of course, the old line that says all titles are of equal ranking no longer applies. Only the crowns of Maxine Medina and Kylie Verzosa are being equally classified on top. And this points to previous talks that the format of the finals will be so different that the last three women standing will literally pass through the eye of a needle before knowing who gets what pageant assignment for 2017.
40 contestants will compete for the six coveted titles.
