Bill Kramer (fund raiser)

Bill Kramer is currently a Vice President at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) where he is responsible for raising over $25 million per year for the cultural organization, as well as strategic communications, planning and special events.

Previsouly, he was a Vice President at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), where he was responsible for tripling the annual amount raised via fundraising and leading the advancement of the college through strategic fundraising, planning, external relations, and communications initiatives.

For the last two decades, Kramer has served in leadership roles at non-profit arts and educational organizations. He served as the Managing Director at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Los Angeles. In this capacity, he was responsible for raising $250 million to develop the new Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. The Academy Museum will be home to the Academy's vast collection of film artifacts.

In addition, Kramer worked closely with Renzo Piano on the planning and design of the Academy Museum and the public approvals process - ultimately securing the final approvals for the Museum to move into construction. Kramer also oversaw all governmental and external relations for the project.

Kramer has served as the Chief Advancement Officer for the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) -- where he helped SCI-Arc purchase their campus in downtown Los Angeles's Arts District—and the Executive Director of Development for the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) where he successfully completed the university's $150 million Campaign for CalArts.

Kramer holds a Master of Urban Planning and Public Administration degree from New York University and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
