Bigger Brother was a robot that appeared in the TV show Robot Wars and was runner-up in the Fifth Wars, having finished runner-up to Razer. A wedge shaped robot equipped with a powerful flipper, the Watts family (Team Big Brother) from East Sussex built and entered the bot for Series 4 onwards, having previously entered Big Brother in the Third Wars.
It won one title, the Minor Meltdown in Extreme 2, driven by Ian Watts's eight-year-old son Joe Watts.
Having reached the semi-finals the previous year with Big Brother, Bigger Brother was granted the 14th seed for Series 4. It cleared its first round melee fairly successfully, flipping over the 130+ kg Clawed Hopper and also pushing Hammer & Tong around the arena. This put it through to meet up with Bulldog Breed 2. However, its first attempted flip missed and caused a gas leak, leaving the machine weaponless. Bulldog Breed quickly took advantage of this and flipped it over. Unable to activate the flipper, and thus unable to self-right, Bigger Brother was eliminated.
In Extreme 1, the Watts family machine won only the Vengeance battle against Comingetarix. It lost its other two battles, the Tag Team Terror, losing after its team-mate Major Tom was attacked by the House Robots, and in the Flipper Frenzy, losing after it suddenly broke down during the battle.
In Series 5, the East Sussex bot had an explosive start, flipping Tip-Top and Splinter out of the arena fairly swiftly in the first two rounds. In the final, Bigger Brother went through to its first Semi-Final following the immobilisation of 3 Stegs to Heaven. In the Grand Final, it first faced the more powerful Hypno-Disc, and suffered huge blows to the armoury, it stayed defensive however and eventually Hypno-Disc fell into the pit, then it faced Razer. Razer pierced several holes in Bigger Brother who put up very little defence and lost on a unanimous judges' decision, finishing runner-up for Series 5. Also, Razer won the Best Design Award.
In Extreme 2, Bigger Brother secured its first and only title in the Minor Meltdown competition, where eight-year-old Joe Watts made quick work of the least experienced robot Lambsy, driven by Daniel Lockhart, by flipping its rival over and disposing of it in the pit in a match lasting just 27 seconds. It also made the All-Stars final, but lost to Firestorm 4 after having been flipped over.
In the final series, Bigger Brother was seeded 4th and appeared in Heat O, but suffered a major upset after being flipped out of the arena in the second round by Iron Awe 2.1. Despite this humiliation, it appeared in the All-Stars championship where it and the other bots initiated a coup against the House Robots, this included flipping over Shunt and ganging up on Cassius Chrome whose eye fell off following an axe attack by Kat 3, causing the house robot to break down.
