Bhagavathy

Bhagavati is a popular deity in the Indian states of Kerala, karnataka,Goa and Konkan. It can be used to refer any of the Hindu goddesses like Durga, Kannaki, Parvati, Saraswati, Lakshmi, and Kali. In Goa, Bhagavati generally refers to the Mahishasurmardini form of Shakti.

Shrines of these goddesses are referred to as Bhagavati Kshetram Kerala. Many Bhagavati temples are found in Goa, where the deity is mainly worshiped in the form of Mahishasur Mardini by Goud Saraswat Brahmin, Daivadnya Brahmin, Bhandari communities.
