Beyond the Prairie: The True Story of Laura Ingalls Wilder and its sequel, Beyond the Prairie, Part 2: The True Story of Laura Ingalls Wilder, are television films which were presented in two parts, the first in 2000, and the second in 2002, which presented episodes from the later books in the Little House on the Prairie series (from The Long Winter to The First Four Years).
Despite the title, the miniseries was criticized for its significant deviations not only from Laura Ingalls Wilder's books, but the known facts of her life. Some incidents portrayed did occur, but not at the time during which the series is set, while others are entirely fictional. The appearance of characters differs from their descriptions in the books. There are also anachronisms in hairstyles, costuming, and the behavior of the characters.
