Beyond is an American drama television series created by Adam Nussdorf about a man who is in possession of supernatural powers after waking up from a coma. A pilot was green-lit for Freeform (then known as ABC Family) in April 2015, ordered production in November 2015, and produced a ten-episode season between April and November 2016. The series premiered on January 2, 2017. On January 10, 2017, Freeform renewed the show for a second season. Filming will begin on April 24, 2017.
Holden Matthews (Burkely Duffield) wakes from a 12-year coma and discovers new abilities that propel him into the middle of a dangerous conspiracy. Now that he is out of his coma, Holden must figure out what happened to him during the past dozen years and how to survive in the world that has changed significantly while he was in his coma. But perhaps the biggest question of all is why it happened to him. As Holden tries to adjust to adulthood—all he remembers is being a child—charmingly mysterious Willa warns him not to trust the people around him.
Internationally, the series premiered in Australia on FOX8 on January 17, 2017.
In the UK and in Ireland all 10 episodes can be currently watched at once on Netflix before the US broadcasts. In the United States, every episode was available for binge watching on the FreeForm app, website, and Hulu; after its premiere on January 2nd, 2017.
