Bern Township is a township in Berks County, Pennsylvania, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population is 6,797. The township is in Schuylkill Valley School District.
The township was so named by Swiss settlers after Bern, in Switzerland.
The Rieser Mill, Rieser-Shoemaker Farm, Spannuth Mill, and Wertz's Covered Bridge are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 20.0 square miles (52 km2), of which, 19.1 square miles (49 km2) of it is land and 0.8 square miles (2.1 km2) of it (4.06%) is water.
