Benjamin R. Teitelbaum


Benjamin Raphael Teitelbaum (born January 27, 1983) is an American scholar, political commentator, and musician, and is Assistant Professor of Ethnomusicology at the University of Colorado, Boulder and former Head of Nordic Studies at the same institution. He is best known for his ethnographic research into far-right groups in Scandinavia and commentary on immigration, and is frequently cited as an expert in Scandinavian and American media.

His commentary has been used in American conservative publications like the National Review and CNSNews.com.

He is author of Lions of the North: Sounds of the New Nordic Radical Nationalism (Oxford University Press, 2017), and has authored op-eds in Dagbladet,Foreign Policy, and the New York Times.

Teitelbaum also plays nyckelharpa in the Swedish folk music trio Bjärv.
