Benjamin Gonson (c. 1525–1577) was an English shipwright, the first Surveyor of the Royal Navy and a founding member of England's Navy Board. The son of Vice-Admiral William Gonson, he held office as Surveyor from 1546 to 1549, relinquishing it to Admiral William Wynter. His wife, Ursula, was daughter of Anthony Hussey, an Admiralty Court judge under Henry VIII.
