Benipatti


Benipatti is a town and headquarter of sub-division Benipatti(अनुमंडल), in Madhubani district, of the state of Bihar, India. This is a centre of Mithilanchal. The native language of Benipatti is Maithili, while the official language is Hindi.

Benipatti shows versatility in its culture. One of the fame is wearing Dhoti, Kurta and Paag by men's. In eating दही चुड़ा (Dahi Chudah), तील का लाइ (Teel ka laaie). As far as festivals are concern,Holi, Samachkeba, Deewali, Chchath(छठ) puja, Indra(इन्द्र) puja, Durga puja Vidyapati parv among the famous pujas.


Benipatti is situated in the lap of the great mountain "The Himalaya", and to the near of Indo-Nepal frontier. The frontier region is just at the distance of 25 km.The main river that runs alongside the Benipatti is Baghmati. Also, there are many small rivers, Canals and Ponds that make diversified aquatic ecosystem. The territory has vast streched cultivated field. The Benipatti is flood prone region.

Benipatti receives annual rainfall of approx. 1270mm. The region has moderately dense vegetation. The Palm tree grows in large number in the region.

As far as economy sector is concern, Benipatti is a hub of bordering regions of Bihar. The main occupation of people is farming and business.

Benipatti is connected by the road to the state capital Patna, and also, to bordering towns of Nepal. Rail network is not directly available from the town. The nearest railway staion is Madhubani, which is 25 km from the town.
