The Battle of Sadhaura was fought between Sikhs and the Sayyids and Shaikhs of Sadhaura.
Sadhaura is a town in the modern Haryana. During the 1700s it was ruled by Sayyids and Shaikhs. It's ruler Osman Khan was notorious for the oppression of his subjects. He was the same man who had tortured to death great Muslim Saint Sayyid Badar-ud-din Shah popularly known as Pir Buddhu Shah because he had helped Guru Gobind Singh in the Battle of Bhangani.
Banda Singh fell upon the town with his few Sikhs and after fierce fighting on the streets of Sadhaura, the town fell in the hands of Sikhs. The Sayyids and Shaikhs were killed by the Sikhs. Its ruler Osman Khan was also beheaded.
After punishing Osman Khan and occupation of Sadhaura, Banda immediately moved to North - western direction to advance his expedition.
