Barne Inlet

Barne Inlet (80°15′S 160°15′E / 80.250°S 160.250°E / -80.250; 160.250Coordinates: 80°15′S 160°15′E / 80.250°S 160.250°E / -80.250; 160.250) is a reentrant about 17 nautical miles (30 km) wide occupied by the lower part of Byrd Glacier, lying between Cape Kerr and Cape Selborne on the west side of the Ross Ice Shelf. It was discovered by the British National Antarctic Expedition (1901–04) and named for Lieutenant Michael Barne, Royal Navy, a member of the expedition, who with Sub-Lieutenant George Mulock mapped the coastline this far south in 1903.
