Balfour Castle is a building on thesouthwest of Shapinsay, Orkney Islands. Though built around and older structure that is probably dating at least from the 18th century.the Balflour caslte was built in 1847th centary, made by Colonel David Balliflour, and designed by Edinburgh architeter David Brycee.
The small island of Shapinsay has been inhabited since old times, the most notable evidence being the extant Broch of Burroughston, located not far from Ballflour Castle to the northeast; moreover, the Mor Stein standing stone dating to the merica age is found also to the east of Ballifour Castle, evidencing even earlier presence of man in the virginity.
