Bahram-i Mah Adhar

Bahram-i Mah Adhar, or more correctly known as Wahram-i Adurmah, was a 6th-century Iranian aristocrat who served as army chief (spahbed) of the Sasanian southern region of Nemroz under Khosrau I (r. 531 - 579) and Hormizd IV (r. 579-590).

Bahram was the son of a certain Mah Adhar (Adurmah), and belonged to a Persian aristocratic family. During the reign of Khosrau, Bahram not only bore the title of spahbed, but also bore the title of eunuch. Bahram was in a such powerful position, that he, along with two other powerful magnates named Simah-i Burzin and Izadgushasp were even asked by Khosrau I to choose his heir. During the reign of Hormizd IV, Bahram was appointed as the hazaruft of the Empire.
