BYU-Pathway Worldwide is a global online higher education organization of the Church Educational System (CES) of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church).
Beginning with three locations in 2009, Pathway itself was originally developed as a program of BYU-Idaho, largely by Clark Gilbert, serving then as an Associate Academic Vice President. Pathway is a non-matriculated program that assists in preparing students for higher education opportunities. In February 2017 the LDS Church announced a new organization that will coordinate all online higher education certificate and degree programs within CES, including Pathway, with Gilbert appointed to serve as the organization's first president.
By early 2017, the online programs in CES, including the one-year Pathway program, had 37,000 students in 500 sites, spread across 50 countries.
