Avenida Combatentes da Liberdade da Patria is an avenue in the Plateau of Praia and Gamboa (or Chã das Areias) Praia, Santiago island, Cape Verde. It is one of the major streets of the city and one of the most used. It runs south to north alongside Praia da Gamboa and Negra and Praia Harbor. It is more than 1.6 km long and its elevation above sea level ranges from a meter above sea level in which most of the avenue runs to 14 meters above sea level northeast of the Plateau. Address numbers are ordered northward. The portion at the middle roundabout is the starting point of the main road linking to Cidade Velha towards the west and the eastern Praia bypass and Port access. Since 2003, the two highways starts at the roundabout, the EN3-ST07 towards the south and the EN1-ST01 to the north
The avenue begins at a rotary intersecting Avenida de Cuba, then crosses the Archive's Street which connects Rua Cabo Verde Telecom, there a bus stop is located, then it connects with a rotary after a curve, it intersects with Rampa São Januário to the north which has access to the Plateau of Praia, the city center and Avenida Amílcar Cabral and Rua da Várzea with a ramp which connects to Várzea and once served as a main road to Cidade Velha up to 2003, it enters with a slightly larger curve alongside the east of the Plateau, it runs west of Praia Harbor up to Praia Negra and the remainder runs in the vicinity of the west of Ribeira da Trindade for 800 meters. Rua Dr. António Loreno (once called Luis de Camões) runs adjacently to the street, the northern part runs a bit further then intersects at the terminus. A third curve follows and intersects at the rotary connecting Rua do Aeroporto, the start of the Praia Bypass (EN1-ST06).
The avenue runs in the west margins of Praia da Gamboa for a kilometer. The National Archives Buildings (ANCV) is on the west side, one of the notable buildings which was once served as a port custom's office. The head offices of Electra is near Rua da Várzea, the Marine Police offices are on the east side. Up near Ribeira da Trindade is a beverage factory known as Sociedade Cabo-verdiana de Cerveja e Refrigerantes (SCCR). North is an intersection with a branch road and a pedestrian bridge, the first up to the 1970s was the beach road.
