Audun Mortensen

Audun Mortensen (born 24 November 1985, in Seoul, South Korea) is a Norwegian writer and artist. Mortensen has published six books with Flamme Forlag, and, as an artist, has been included in several exhibitions, including at the Gagosian Gallery in New York City.

Mortensen's debut book, Alle forteller meg hvor bra jeg er i tilfelle jeg blir det (Everyone Tells Me How Good I Am in Case I Get It), was named 2009's best first book of poems in Norwegian by Aftenposten.

Mortensen released the book Samleren, Flamme Forlag (2015) late 2015. The book was later revealed to be a plagiarism of the novel The Burnt Orange Heresy (1971), written by American writer Charles Willeford.

Mortensen himself described the process as follows: "After translating using Google Translate, I retouched as little as possible, but enough to make the book "work" as a novel novel."

Following a prolonged public debate, the publisher Flamme forlag, retracted the book May 13th 2017, and paid an undesclosed amount to the Charles Willeford's estate.
