Arthur de Soysa

Charles Arthur Neville de Soysa was a Ceylonese statesman and businessman. He was elected to the first Parliament of Ceylon in 1947 from Colombo and was re-elected in 1952. Born to Thomas Henry Arthur de Soysa and Regina Perera Abayawardena, he was educated at Royal College, Colombo and was a grandson of Sir Charles Henry de Soysa. His former home Regina Walauwa became the home to the University College Ceylon. The University Sports Ground was gifted by his uncle E. L. F. de Soysa, originally to Royal College, Colombo.
