Argyle Middle School is a public school for students in grades 6, 7, and 8, located in Layhill, Maryland.

Students who graduate from Bel Pre, Brookhaven, Georgian Forest, Harmony Hills, Shriver, Strathmore, Veirs Mill, Weller Road, and Wheaton Woods elementary schools may attend Argyle Middle School. Graduates of Argyle Middle School may attend Blair, Eintein, Kennedy, Northwood, or Wheaton High School.

Fifty percent of eighth graders read at a proficient level. Twenty-one percent of students read at an advanced level. In mathematics, 39 percent of eighth graders are enrolled Algebra 1 and earned a grade of C or better in the class.

Of Argyle Middle School's students, 81 are enrolled in special education.

In 2011, the Education Trust identified Argyle Middle School as "high-flying", meaning it had high test scores and a large proportion of students who were either of color or in families with low incomes. Argyle Middle School was one of four such public middle schools in Montgomery County that were identified by the Education Trust.

In 2014, about 150 students helped design a 10-foot-by-20-foot mural that highlighted the United States Constitution and the rights that it guarantees. Argyle Middle School's mural was awarded third place nationwide.

Sports teams at Argyle Middle School include basketball, tennis, soccer, and lacrosse.

During the 2015–2016 school year, Argyle Middle School had 309 sixth graders, 310 seventh graders, and 293 eighth graders. The school's capacity is 897, while its total enrollment is 912.
