Argus Media Ltd (formerly known as Petroleum Argus Ltd) is an independent provider of price information, market data and business intelligence for the global petroleum, natural gas, electricity, emissions, biofuels, biomass, LPG and coal industries.

Argus Media Ltd is a privately held UK-registered company with headquarters in London. Argus Media was owned by the family of its founder and its senior staff, but in September 2016 a majority-stake was sold to the equity firm General Atlantic. Argus Media was established in 1970 by former Daily Telegraph journalist Jan Nasmyth and has more than 750 employees worldwide.

In 2011 Argus bought FMB, a price reporting agency for international fertilizer markets. FMB covers nitrogen, sulphur, potash, ammonia, phosphates and urea and also runs key networking events.

Argus' headquarters are in London, with major offices in Moscow, Washington, Houston, Singapore, New York, Dubai, Astana, Kiev, Tokyo and Beijing as well as employees in other key locations including Germany, France, Nigeria, Venezuela, Argentina and Chile.

Argus' main business is assessing prices and gathering and publishing trade information for over-the-counter energy markets. It competes with Platts, which is owned by the US publisher McGraw-Hill, Icis as well as Bloomberg and Reuters. Argus uses a precise and transparent methodology to collect information and their assessments are used internationally as benchmarks in spot and term contracts. Argus also has business intelligence services which provide fundamentals data, news analysis and informed opinion on aspects of energy markets.
