The Appalachian Stakes is an American Grade III Thoroughbred horse race run annually in April at Keeneland Racecourse in Lexington, Kentucky. Open to three-year-old fillies, it is contested on turf over a distance of one mile (8 furlongs).

First held in 1989, the Appalachian Stakes was named for the Appalachian Mountains which extend into Eastern Kentucky.

The race was run at a distance of 1 116 miles from 1989 through 1995. A Listed race, it was elevated to a Grade III event in 2008.

Recently it has been presented by the Japan Racing Association.
