Anthony Chimienti


Anthony Chimienti (born June 17, 1979 in San Jose, California) is an American soccer player who last played for the United States national beach soccer team. He played in the 2006 and 2007 Beach Soccer World Cup and scored 7 goals in 6 matches. The Americans failed to qualify for the Quarterfinals in both competitions.

Chimienti played four years under Mitch Murray at Santa Clara University, from 1998-2001. He currently ranks among the school's all-time goals and points leader, and helped lead the Broncos to the 1998 and 1999 Final Four Championships.

Chimienti spent some time with the San Jose Earthquakes in 2001. However, never made a 1st team appearance. He also spent time with Vasco da Gama of Brazil's First division, where he mainly trained and played with the reserve squad. Chimienti recently played for the Sacramento Knight's from 2004–2008, where he was NPSL league MVP twice, in 2006 and 2007, as well as the league's top scorer in both seasons. He also scored the game-winning goal in the Sacramento Knights' 2-0 victory in the National Championship match in 2006.
