Angela Christine Watson (born November 12, 1975) is an American model and actress best known for her role on the American sitcom Step by Step, where she played one of the daughters, Karen Foster, of Suzanne Somers' character Carol Foster Lambert.
Watson was born in Danville, Illinois, the youngest daughter of Barbara and Allen Watson, who were farmers in the small town of Oakwood, Illinois, until 1985. Her family then moved to Cape Coral, Florida, where her parents entered her into beauty pageants, in which she won 60 crowns and 200 trophies. Watson also won Model of the Year through the Face Finders Model Search in Dallas, Texas in 1988. She graduated from John Burroughs Senior High School in Burbank, California.
Like many others, Watson then moved on to local theatre and commercials. Her success in these areas enabled her family to be able to use some of her earnings to move to Los Angeles. She was first cast in a recurring role on Davis Rules. She then went on to her best known role as ditzy wanna-be valley girl Karen Foster on Step by Step. Karen, like Watson, was an aspiring model. Watson has not landed many roles after Step by Step ended its seven-year run in 1998.
In 2000, she appeared in the Performance Riverside production of How to Succeed in Business.
Angela Watson served on the Screen Actors Guild National Board of Directors for a number of years.
After Step By Step ended, Watson discovered that her earnings for 10 years of work - $2.5 million - had been misspent by her parents. In 2000 Watson started Child Actors Supporting Themselves (CAST), an organization to help child actors and athletes handle their finances.
