"Angel in the Night" is the third single released in the United Kingdom from Swedish dance musician Basshunter, taken from his debut UK album, Now You're Gone – The Album. The single was released on 29 September 2008.
The main synth riff is from an older Basshunter song "Storm of Fantasy" which was written with Ozo.
The song was first premiered on Friday Floor Fillers which is part of The Scott Mills Show on BBC Radio 1 on 22 August 2008.
On 17 September 2008, the song was upgraded to BBC Radio 1's A-List.
The video for "Angel in the Night" follows on from the previous music video, "All I Ever Wanted". Aylar Lie is now working in a café and breaks up with her boyfriend, Lucas, sending a text message explaining that she knows he's been cheating. Basshunter is eating at the café and hands Aylar a leaflet, inviting her to the street race he's taking part in. On race day it seems Aylar has another admirer, who happens to be the man Basshunter is racing against. Basshunter wins the race (in a custom Mazda RX-8). Later at night Aylar and her friends attend a party. Basshunter gets Aylar's attention by singing on stage and the pair kiss.
The video was shot in Oslo, and the racing scenes were shot at a container loading dock.
On 7 September 2008, the song entered the UK Singles Chart at #54 on downloads alone and peaked at #14.
