Andrew G. McCabe was appointed as the sixteenth Deputy Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, D.C. on February 1, 2016.
McCabe graduated from Duke University in 1990 and obtained a law degree from Washington University in St. Louis.
McCabe spent three years in a private law practice before joining the FBI in 1996. He began his career in the New York Field Office, where he focused on organized crime. Later, McCabe held leadership positions in the Counterterrorism Division and the Washington Field Office. As Deputy Director, McCabe now holds the highest civil service position in the FBI.
