Andorra in the Eurovision Song Contest
2004 2005►

Andorra took part in the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time in 2004. The country was represented by Marta Roure and the song "Jugarem a estimar-nos". The song was chosen through a national final, 12 Punts (English: 12 Points), which was jointly organized by Andorran broadcaster Ràdio i Televisió d'Andorra (RTVA) and Catalan broadcaster TV3.

The Andorran National Final was held on March 15, 2004, hosted by Pati Molné and Xavier Graset, with the winner being chosen by a mixture of an "expert" jury (5/7), SMS voting in Andorra (1/7) and SMS voting in Catalonia (1/7).

Before the final, 40 artists of the tiny country of Andorra attended auditions, after which two acts were selected for the televised series, Marta Roure and Bis a Bis. The series consisted of six quarter-finals, two semi-finals and the grand final. In each of the quarter-finals, 2 songs were presented with one being eliminated. In the 2 semi-finals, 3 of the winning songs from the 6 quarter-finals were presented, with one going forward to the final. The two finalist songs were performed by both Marta Roure and Bis a Bis. Marta Roure won the final by 5 votes to 2. Marta Roure was a clear favourite.

On 1 January 2004, an album of all the songs performed during the series was released on CD. One of these songs, "No És Nou", became a hit later in 2006 by Catalan rock group Gossos featuring Beth.

Final

Andorra competed in the semi-final on 9 May. Marta Roure did not qualify for the final, placing in 18th place with 12 points awarded by Spain.
