Anansesem, founded in Philadelphia in 2010, is an online magazine about Caribbean literature for children and young adults. It is the first publication in the English-speaking Caribbean dedicated to reviewing children's literature and young adult literature. It was founded by Summer Edward, a Trinidadian-American children's literature specialist living in Philadelphia, with the goal of encouraging the writing and illustration of Caribbean literature for and by young people.

In each issue, Anansesem publishes poetry, fiction and nonfiction for young audiences, articles about issues and trends in Caribbean children's and young adult literature, children's illustration, and reviews of new books for children and teenagers. Articles are written by the staff and guest reviewers, including librarians, scholars, teachers, authors, historians and booksellers.

The ezine's name pays homage to an Afro-Caribbean tradition of oral storytelling. 'Anansesem' is an Akan word, the literal meaning of which is “words relating to the spider”, used by the Akan people to describe not only Anansi stories but all kinds of fables.
