Phon Sawan (Thai: โพนสวรรค์) is a district (Amphoe) in the province Nakhon Phanom in the northeast of Thailand.
Neighboring districts are (from the west clockwise) Na Wa, Si Songkhram, Tha Uthen and Mueang Nakhon Phanom of Nakhon Phanom Province, and Kusuman of Sakon Nakhon Province.
The minor district (King Amphoe) was established on January 7, 1986, when the five tambon Phon Sawan, Na Hua Bo, Na Khamin, Phon Bok and Ban Kho where split off from Tha Uthen district. It was upgraded to a full district on Mai 9 1992.
The district is subdivided into 7 subdistricts (tambon), which are further subdivided into 86 villages (muban). Phon Sawan itself has township (thesaban tambon) status and covers part of the tambon Phon Sawan and Phon Chan. There are further 7 tambon Tambon administrative organization (TAO).
