American Drift is the first studio album by American electronic musician Elysia Crampton. It was released on August 7, 2015, on Blueberry Records and was released to high critical acclaim from various critics.

Conceptually and musically, American Drift took inspiration from varying cultural areas. Elysia was inspired by African-American history and , which the music gives context to through usage of relative musical styles. She also cited relating late writer José Esteban Muñoz's concepts on 'brownness' with the Earth and its prehistoric geology.

Elysia's musical influences while recording American Drift became a long range of styles; Southern hip hop/crunk, Latin metal, North American psychedelic folk, neo-classical music, ragtime, early blues, her brother's avant-garde records, and her grandfather's collection of huayno and cumbia tapes, which showed predominately among her use of samples and rhythms with a highly digital touch and taste for atmospheric soundscapes.
