Amber Marks is a British barrister and author., born at St Teresa's Hospital, Wimbledon in October 1977. After working as a lawyer in private practice and in the UK government legal service, she took up research on the increasing use of sniffer dogs and other olfactory surveillance methods. She has written an account of her research for the popular market, Headspace (published 2008); in connection with this publication, articles by or about her were published by some of the major English newspapers. She also works on forensic science and criminal justice technologies. She is a trustee of Release.
Marks currently teaches at the London School of Economics, Queen Mary, University of London and King's College London.
Marks' father was former teacher, convicted drug smuggler, and author Howard Marks and her mother is author Judy Marks.
