Always and Everyone (later known as A&E) is a British television medical drama, broadcast on ITV, that ran for four series between 7 June 1999 and 22 August 2002. Set in the Accident and Emergency department of Saint Victor's busy city hospital, the series follows the everyday lives of the doctors and nurses working in the department, and was heavily described as ITV's answer to Casualty.
The series featured an ensemble cast, which changed throughout the series' run, however principal characters Christine Fletcher (Niamh Cusack) and Robert Kingsford (Martin Shaw) were retained throughout the series' run. A total of forty episodes were broadcast. The series has never been commercially released, on either VHS or DVD, but digital repeats of the series were broadcast on ITV Encore for the first time in 2014. All four series are also currently available to watch on Sky Go.
The second series took one hiatus on 7 June 2000, due to ITV's coverage of the Euro 2000 football tournament. The third series took one hiatus on 7 June 2001, due to ITV's General Election 2001 coverage, and the It'll Be Alright on the Night Election Special.
