Ali Akbar is an Indian film lyricist, screenwriter and director in Malayalam movies. He directed more than 20 Malayalam movies. His popular movies are Junior Mandrake, Kudumba Vaarthakal and Pai Brothers. Akbar has contested in 2014 parliament elections from Vatakara constituency in the AAP banner. He contested in Kozhikkode corporation for BJP.
